Mother’s moving to new Portland locale in November: ‘We’ve officially outgrown the space’

PORTLAND, Ore. – A longtime favorite in Portland’s culinary scene is moving after nearly two decades at its current downtown location.

Mother’s Bistro and Bar owner Lisa Schroeder announced Wednesday that they will be moving down the street, opening back up inside of the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland.

Schroeder said the move is in part because they have outgrown their Stark Street home, and they hope a larger building will help cut down on wait times and offer a more comfortable waiting area.

They plan to open at the new location in November 2018.

“We’ve had an amazing run here at the original Mother’s location,” says owner, Lisa Schroeder. “However, we’ve officially outgrown the space and in the interest of all of our 75 employees’ comfort and creativity, and to continue to make sure our guests are receiving the highest level of hospitality possible, moving is the right choice. We are excited for this next chapter of Mother’s!”

Schroeder plans to keep the same “Mother’s” charm and menu at their new space, but said they might have some room for change down the road (hinting at new dishes and design elements).
