Mother’s Bistro & Bar

Mother’s Bistro & Bar in downtown Portland is “undeniably amazing,” says Ryan Lettier, concierge at the Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland.

Mother’s is the place to go for those special family occasions – or when you just really want a fantastic brunch. The stuffed frittata is a favorite. It’s an open-faced omelet with bacon, cheddar cheese and potatoes, topped with sour cream and green onions. Also a favorite among children (and adults) is the crunchy French toast: thick slices of challah bread, dipped in cornflakes and grilled golden brown.

Insider tip: Mother’s won’t seat you until everyone in your party has arrived. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekends. It’s closed Monday.
